This soprano ukulele was made in the spring of 1998 by Joel Eckhaus of Earnest Instruments, of domestic walnut. I have not played it a lot, so it still looks pretty new. It has a nice loud and bright sound which is good for performing. The fingerboard is plastic, commonly known as "Mother of Toiletseat" with metal frets, in imitation of the fancy instruments made in the 20's when plastic was an exciting new invention. The walnut finish is light, not at all like the usual dark oiled walnut. The case is a deluxe lined chipboard case.

A note to people looking at this on my web page - I go in and out of wanting to sell this uke - as I write this, Sept 08, I am playing it a bit and it is not for sale, but by the time you read this I may have changed my mind. The color is a little lighter than the pictures show. The sound is lovely!
