Biography for Andrzej Bieszczad

Andrzej Bieszczad received his Magister Informatyki degree fron the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland in 1981 and M.C.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Carleton University in Ottawa in 1993 and 1996 respectively. Andrzej spent many years in the computer and telecommunications industry including ITT/Alcatel and Nortel, where he was involved in research and development activities. Since 1988, his work focused on exploring intelligent methods for Network Management. He was one of the designers of the trend setting Expert Advisor expert system for managing Nortel's Data Packet Networks. Since 1993, Andrzej has been associated with the Carleton University. After a few years of graduate research on cognitive modelling, he joined the Network Management and Artificial Intelligence Lab, first as a Senior Researcher and Adjunct Professor, and then as an Associate Professor. His current research concentrates on applications of mobile code and artificial and computational intelligence in telecommunications and network computing.
