Welcome to Piseco Yacht Club
Racing
The Piseco Yacht Club runs races on Piseco Lake at Piseco, NY,
every weekend from the end of June
through the Labor Day weekend, with two races every Saturday
and July 4, and two races on many Sundays. There are
special trophy races on "senior weekend" and "junior weekend".
Membership
You are welcome to join the Yacht Club as either a sailing
member or as a social member to participate in the
activities of the club and help support the club's program.
If you are hesitant to join as a sailing member because you
are not familiar with sailboat racing rules or protocol,
you are welcome to join a few races and have one of our
members either sail with you or help you with some basic
instruction.
Boats
We have races and programs for both Junior sailors age 18 and younger and Senior sailors. Juniors generally race Sunfish sailboats, while Seniors race in a variety class--mainly
Sunfish, Hobie Cats, and Flying Scots, although all types of sailboats are allowed, including windsurfers. Boats are handicapped by class, so slower types of boat can win!
Other events
The club sponsors an annual Poker Run on the lake for the benefit
of the Piseco Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Annual social events include a preaseason meeting,
a picnic in July, and an awards party at the end of August.
