Chanda Dharap is currently Senior Member of Technical Staff at Philips
Research Laboratories in Palo Alto, California. She has a PhD and
Master of Science in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State
University and a Master of Technology in Computer Science from Poona
University, India. She also did her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
from Bombay University, India.

Her research interests include wide-area file systems, typed and
structured content representations towards better resource discovery
over the World-Wide Web, and multimedia information retrieval. In
addition she is interested in the use of software agents towards
automating the task of content discovery in wide-area systems.
