M. Ranganathan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer
Science, University of Maryland. He has a B.Tech in Mechanical
Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, an
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the
University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.S. in Computer Science from
the University of Maryland. He has worked 14 years in industry, as a
Mechanical Engineer and as a Software Engineer. His current research
interests are environment-aware mobile programs and distributed
resource monitoring.
