About me
I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Computer Science at Dartmouth College. I am a member of the DartNets (Dartmouth Networking and Ubiquitous Systems) Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Andrew T. Campbell. Before joining Dartmouth, I spent 3 years at Tencent as a software engineer developing search engines and recommendation systems.
As part of my doctoral work, I helped create the CarSafe app,
which is a new driver safety app for Android phones that detects and alerts drivers to dangerous driving conditions and behavior. My work on StudentLife, and SmartGPA show that we can capture the rhythm the Dartmouth term, infer students' mental health, and predict their GPA using automatic sensing data from smartphones. I'm also working on Eureka R01 lead by Prof. Dror Ben-Zeev, which trys to detect early warning signs of impending episodes of severe mental health illness from the behavioral data collected using smartphones.
My Research
Area: ubiquitous computing, mobile sensing, behavioral modeling, context aware-ness, and data mining
My current research interest broadly focuses on developing mobile sensing and inference systems for smartphones and wearable devices that observe and understand human behaviors. I am particularly interested in finding connections between people's daily behaviors and health outcomes.
